Chris Opitz

Strategic Operations Manager

Chris is a Strategic Operations Manager at ABS who joined the team in 2012. He is a 1989 graduate of Virginia Tech earning a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management.

Chris has been in the IT industry for over 25 years specializing in long term solutions with scalable capabilities tailored to clients needs. With so much time in the industry, it is an understatement to say Chris is qualified to talk technology, boasting more certifications than an elementary school graduation. He is knowledgeable in Cisco holding certificates in CSE, Advanced Routing and Switching and WAAS. As a Certified Sales Representative with Barracuda he holds an array of certificates covering the product line. In addition (but not limiting) he holds: EMC Sales Foundations, EMC Proven Professional Sales Accreditation NAS Specialist and VMWare VSP 4.

His talent in sales and service to his customers earned him membership in the Xerox President Club six of the 12 years he was employed there.

In his time away from the IT industry, Chris enjoys sailing, fishing, hunting, kayaking and snow skiing. Good with his hands, he enjoys restoring boats and built his first gun, a 1905 Sportorized Mauser. His real love is spending time with his wife and their two children.
